July 1945. As the Pacific War was in its final stages, the Allies demanded the acceptance of the Potsdam Declaration by Japan, which had lost any hope of winning the war. Surrender or fight the Decisive War at home?

The cabinet debates day and night, but the controversy only escalates. In the face of Japan's silence, the U.S. drops atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki as the final blows, taking hundreds of thousands of lives. An imperial meeting is convened at noon on August 14 and the cabinet accepts the Emperor's decision to surrender. What was the fate of Japan that changed with every second during the longest day in its history - from when the cabinet made the decision to when the Emperor personally made a radio announcement declaring the end of the war at noon on August 15?
